Here is the breakdown of the newest U.S. Department of Labor LM-20 filings and the related NLRB activity, covering nine new disclosures from eight anti-union consulting firms.
The $4,000-a-Day Rate: Action Resources at a California Seal Plant
The highest rate in this batch belongs to Gobain-Omniseal (CA), which retained Action Resources at $4,000 a day to respond to an organizing drive among its Garden Grove workers. The Machinists (IAM) withdrew their petition in early August, so the election never went to a vote.
RoadWarrior Productions Shows Up Twice
Turner Construction (AL) hired RoadWarrior Productions at $3,800 a day. That election remains open.
Blue Chip Casino (IN) hired RoadWarrior Productions at an even higher rate, $3,900 a day, to respond to Teamsters Local 135’s organizing drive among slot attendants. Workers voted 18 to 2 in favor, and the union was certified on August 10. The LM-20 was filed after the tally was announced.
$425 an Hour, Twice Over: LRI Consulting Services at Nexstar Media
LRI Consulting Services shows up on two separate Nexstar Media filings this round, both at the same $425-an-hour rate, and both disclosed after the tally was announced.
At Nexstar’s Connecticut station (New Haven), workers voted 4 to 1 against representation with NABET-CWA.
At Nexstar’s Washington, D.C. station, the outcome went the other way: NABET Local 31 won 19 to 5, and the union was certified on August 12.
Cummings Group Picks Up Two New Clients
Sysco Raleigh (NC) hired Cummings Group as the food distributor’s workers pursue organizing.
Brenntag Mid-South (VA) also hired Cummings Group, but it didn’t work out for the company: Teamsters Local 592 won 11 to 5 among the Richmond facility’s drivers and warehouse operators, and the union was certified on August 13. That LM-20 was filed after the tally as well.
$3,500 a Day, Two Different Outcomes
Simplot (ID) hired Concordia Resolve Consulting at $3,500 a day as Teamsters Local 431 seeks to organize warehouse workers at its Kerman, California facility. That election remains open.
Qualtronics (IN) hired National Labor Relations Advocates at the same $3,500-a-day rate. IBEW Local 481 lost that election 46 to 39, and the LM-20 wasn’t filed until after the tally was announced.
Superior Tank Lines: $212.50 an Hour
Superior Tank Lines (CA) hired GNE Consulting Services at $212.50 an hour to respond to organizing at the company.
