Correction: An earlier version of this report inaccurately stated that Permanent Solutions Labor Consultants had been retained by Insituform, a subsidiary of Aegion, to oppose workers at their Delaware facility attempting to form a union with IUOE Local 542. The consultant hired by Insituform is in fact Ricardo Pasalagua of Labor Relations Specialists, LLC.
LaborLab has filed a complaint against Labor Relations Specialists, LLC for failure to comply with the LMRDA. The complaint alleges that Mr. Pasalagua is engaged in undisclosed activities that could constitute a violation of the Labor-Management Relations and Disclosure Act (LMRDA). According to our research, Mr. Pasalagua was hired by Insituform, a subsidiary of Aegion, to oppose unionization efforts by workers at their Delaware facility with IUOE Local 542. These activities reportedly include mandatory captive audience meetings.
“LaborLab is deeply concerned that these omissions may be intentional and could be denying workers crucial information about their right to organize,” said Funk. “We urge OLMS to investigate these potential violations and take appropriate action to ensure compliance with federal labor law.”
