LaborLab Files Complaint Against Coway for Failing to File Annual Financial Disclosures

Nonprofit labor advocacy group LaborLab has filed a complaint against Coway-USA INC for failing to file their annual financial disclosures to the US Department of Labor (DOL).

The complaint alleges that Coway entered into an agreement with Pinnacle Labor Solutions, Inc., a union-busting firm based in Santee, CA, on August 30, 2022. Pinnacle subcontracted with Russ Brown of Road Warrior Productions to carry out the union-busting activities.

Both Pinnacle and Coway have failed to submit their annual financial disclosures to the US DOL. Road Warrior Productions claims they were paid $19,330 by Coway directly in 2022. It is unclear if Russ Brown of Simon Jara did the “persuading,” because Road Warrior Productions claims to have paid Simon Jara over $10,000 for union-busting activities.

“Coway’s failure to file their annual financial disclosures is a serious violation of the law,” said Bob Funk, Executive Director at LaborLab. “This information is essential for workers to know who is paying to bust their unions. We are calling on Coway to comply with the law and file their financial disclosures immediately.”

The complaint was filed with the DOL’s Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS). OLMS is responsible for investigating and enforcing compliance with the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA), which requires employers to file annual financial disclosures with the DOL.
