BULLETIN: $425/Hour Consultants Were Hired By Temecula Food Distributor

Over thirty workers organizing at Southwest Traders, Inc., a Temecula, CA-based foodservice distributor with a facility in Stockton, CA, filed a petition to form a union in November of 2023. Despite being a family-owned company, Southwest Traders has some consistently low rankings on platforms like Indeed. In response to the organizing effort, the company enlisted the services of LRI Consulting Services, Inc., dubbed “America’s Favorite Union Busting Firm,” along with a team of anti-union persuader consultants being paid $425/hr. These tactics began in December and persisted into the new year. The workers recently withdrew their petition for a union election, underscoring the potent effectiveness of union-busting tactics.
