Washington Senate Votes to Ban “Captive Audience” Meetings

In a significant victory for worker rights, the Washington State Senate passed the Employee Free Choice Act (SB 5778) by a 28-20 vote. This legislation ensures that employees cannot be forced to attend captive audience meetings where employees are forced to listen to anti-union, religious, and political views from their employer. The legislation would protect employees from potential discipline or termination for opting out of captive audience meetings.
